I've been working with a number of other partners at SVP Seattle and SVP International to research and evaluate the viability of the SVP model, maybe including a Fast Pitch program as well, in Bangalore and other major cities in India.  I'll be travelling to India Decemer 6-19, meeting with leaders in nonprofit and philanthropic areas to learn more.   While we have yet to find people practicing a model of engaged philanthropy like we do across the ~2,500 members of the SVP partnership, we've all seen the incredible organizations using everything from tens of thousands of volunteers to teach kids to read (check out Pratham) to long-established social business operations to cure blindness (check out Aravind).  I'm excited to be working with other passionate partners at SVP as well as with friends and associates in India to look into this opportunity.  If you have connections I should meet or organizations I should learn about, please get in touch.
